U8's On Wednesday last Grattan's hosted a special GAA sponsored U8's Blitz under the theme of 'Fair Play'. It was a very vibrant evening, with large attendance of parents and supporters to cheer on their respective teams. In addition, there were special guests from the county board, and 3 members of the County Senior team were on hand to personally meet the players competing. Club teams from Grattan Gaels, Shannon Gaels, Southern Gaels and Moydow/Kenagh took part. It was a very enjoyable evening all round as the players competed in front of a large audience, and they also got to enjoy refreshments as were provided by the club. As part of this event, a special sign is permanently erected now at the club listing the core values of fair play. Thanks to all who help set up and run the evenings activities. The U10's travel to Balinalee tonight, 29th July, for their 9th Blitz of the season and we wish them all the best where they will compete with the host club and Granard. The U10's have continued their strong run of form as they best Northern Gaels by a very comprehensive score, which was played in Mullinaghta pitch last week.
At time of going to print we don't have the result to hand for the semi Final clash with our Western Gaels team and Kenagh/Moydow which took place in McGann Park last Monday - full report to follow next week. We kick off our Championship with the visit of Drumlish/Dromard to Clonbony at 7.30 Thrusday 30th. We hope you can come out to support and shout on the lads to hopefully a 1st round victory!
