We are not quiet there yet with a return to play date for clubs , the gaa announced last week that non-contact underage training in pods of 15 from april 26th and full contact inter-county training at adult level can re-commence from april 19th, hopefully it’s not too far off , in the meantime continue to keep safe and when the time comes to return we will look forward to it with great excitement. In the meantime membership can be paid at any-time to our club registrar Yvonne, club membership fees for 2021 are Players €50; Student players €20; Family €80. CLUB LOTTO Our lotto is now online ( https://member.clubspot.app/club/grattan-og-gaa/lotto/tickets) Our jackpot has now reached the sum of €10,000 so now is the time to purchase your ticket before our next draw, all support is greatly appreciated in what would be a fantastic sum of money to win in these difficult times. Tickets can also be purchased in Stonepark Petrol Shop and left back in by 6pm every Sunday for collection for our draw which takes place later that evening, As always your support is greatly appreciated. Our draw results are posted on all our social media outlets & in the longford leader each week and can also be found on our notice board on our club grounds. GRATTAN LADIES CLUB Lidl commenced a new fundraising initiative for ladies gaelic football across the country which started on February 15th and concludes this coming Sunday 11th april. All support is greatly appreciated for our ladies club to sign up on the lidl plus app, when a user spends €30 they will receive a stamp on their digital card, once you receive 6 stamps the card can be submitted, clubs that submit 50 cards will be guaranteed a reward starting from a full set of jerseys and up to €5000 in cash The 4 simple steps are as follows: 1. download the lidl plus app; 2. select club(grattan ladies) 3. spend over €30 and scan your lidl plus card 4. Submit completed card before Sunday 11th april Our ladies club also have a clothes collection on-going at present, contact club chairman Pat Tiernan 086 8592742 for more information on drop off point, all support greatly appreciated for both fundraisers. MINOR CLUB Finally we have some good news on a date to return to play, this will happen on April 26th all going well, our minor club committee and coaches will be busy preparing over the next couple of weeks so that we can all have a safe return tosome much needed outdoor activity for all our underage players. In the meantime the Gaa have rolled out nationally their “ Be Ready to Play “ program , this is catered for both youth/ adult/advanced and also coaches , the programme includes athletic development programmes, monthly coach education webinars, monthly sports science support webinars, the program opened on march 3rd and remains open, coaches and players are continuously encouraged to register through the Gaa eLearning site ( https://learning.gaa.ie/bereadytoplay ).
