U18 - Unfortunately our Division 1 Special League game did not proceed, Granard/Ballymore did not field, but the final game in the group takes place Vs Clonguish at Allen Park Friday 1st April 7pm.
U16 - Very hard luck in their Leinster semi final outing last week where a strong Drumlish/Dromard team were the winners and will go on to represent the county in the final - so very best of luck to them! The U16s kick off their Div 2 league campaign on Thursday April 7th with a home game V Clonguish in Dunbeggan at 7pm. Further details to follow in coming weeks. U14 - Declan/PJ will hopefully update as playing as we speak and busy schedule of games next weekend! Many thanks to all coaches who undertook our club specific training on Monday last and was great to see such a big turnout! Many thanks to Donal for providing the training which was well delivered and worthwhile! On Tuesday April 5th we will have our club launch of the U6-U12 coaching season with a presentation by Paddy O'Connor at 7.30. We hope all the coaches and any more interested parents can attend as we are looking for some able bodies to help out with the large numbers at the younger age groups!

U14
Unfortunately both our team's games for this week were called off, and therefore no match reports. So we turn our attention to Feile this weekend and our teams are in Cup Action in Newtownforbes with Clonguish, Northern Gaels and Longford Slashers. We would like to wish all the management and team the very best of luck with their qualification. U16 Again our game in the Leinster League Div 3 QF v Granard/Ballymore had to rearranged and as at going to print details aren't finalise but we believe it may be a home encounter in Dunbeggan Wednesday 16th March 5.15pm Check the website for updates on this. Best of luck to all involved and a successful outcome for either club would guarantee home advantage over hopefully another Longford Club (Dromard/Drumlish) in a Leinster Semi Final! Congrats to the Western Gaels U14's on a great win in Killoe on Saturday last. A strong performance and great team play saw the visitors at Clonee to victory.
Now moving on to a home game v Ardagh in Dunbeggan and we hope we can get some support out for the lads. Unfortunately Our division 3 fixture did not proceed as The opponents were unable to field but the lads travel to Cashel on Saturday for a local derby of sorts with Southern Gaels. Our U16's were not in action last weekend but the weekend before they secured a Leinster QF spot which is due to take place next weekend. As we are awaiting the outcome of other fixtures, at going to print, we have not the details to hand for the fixture but will tweet details @GrattanGaels or check on the website here, as soon as to hand. Well done to the management and players on a great achievement on their first outing in the competition which has included victories over teams from Mullingar and Tullamore. We would like to wish Dromard/Drumlish who topped our group, the very best of luck in their semi final in a couple of weeks, unless it's against Western Gaels that is... Our minors maiden outing of the season took place last Sunday with a trip to Ardagh in Division 1A of the minor league. Though the lads racked up a score of 4-9, they were not victorious and lost out to a hard working Ardgh team. Their next outing in the league is a home game V Granard/Ballymore on the 20th March In Dunbeggan The first minor club committee meeting of the year will take place this Thursday 10th March at 8.30 In the clubhouse and the details of the start of the remainder of the under-age section of he club will be available after this. twitter @GrattanGaels web www.grattangaels.com Facebook www.facebook.com/grattangaels.gaa |
